We have lost two of our most dedicated, talented, and sincere gamers. I wish Kevin and Juan the very best in where ever life takes them.
This is not unexpected. From the beginning, what [CKW] has been, a stepping stone. Real life can be a very shitty place- trust me I've been there. With the opportunity to come to a place where you know you will be welcomed and brought honestly cannot be put in words.
A little bit of history you may have not known, the first clan I started [EAF] was a small real life clan a little bigger than our current Battlefield division. We were offered a merger into [CKW] in the end of 2007/beginning 2008. We had all been regulars on the [CKW] Oman Server and were very close to the members. The feeling of being welcomed by Ben (Master_Pain) even in his drunken stupor on vent was amazing. For once in our short existence we were apart of something that could become big.
It's that feeling that motivates me even to this day, when I know tough times are heading for this clan. I soon will too have to drop out of daily operations, having to concentrate on academics and ROTC. How ever, I will never quit this clan. Not until I am the absolute last member will I ever take these tags off. (Tbh, there was a time during name transitions that I was the only person wearing them)
Even though in a perfect world I would like to see us all gaming late into our seventies, it will never be reality. But I hope to instill a few things before you guys move on.
Our "mission statement" which is really just a sentence I had to fill the meta tags with is this: Our only goal is to simply enjoy gaming. But with the loss of these two individuals, I began to think. Are we simply enjoying gaming? I'd like to think so. We've seen great moments in this clan, not relying on professionalism to spur the moment. I recall project reality with my brother, Kevin, John and myself that bring on an immense feeling of nostalgia even to this day.
As your leader, if I make it possible for you to at least have one of those moments, I have fulfilled my duty.
It also goes deeper than that, camaraderie. It's very tough to relay this through the internet, but the teamwork you experience in game it not simply teamwork.
When you see two people down, one with [CKW] tags, and one without, who do you rush to? I know for a fact 10/10 times in BF2 I would always rush to the nearest [CKW] member wounded, even getting killed in the process. The funny part is non clan members in general tend to rage about it. It adds to the "douche bag clan member" stereotype.
But why? Because you look out for your members. It may be difficult to do that in CS, but I know in the battlefield division we have achieved camaraderie.
So for the tl;dr members here is what you exactly need to read:
[CKW] is not dead, we are simply proving our existence, by sending two members out into society with great memories and hopefully a desire for camaraderie that they will take with them for the rest of their lives.
[CKW] is still strong. Battlefield 3 will be big and for us it will be a game changer.
Most importantly though, do not give up. Everyone has to go somewhere, and the demands of [CKW] can take a toll.
Summer time will always loom. And regardless of the fact I'm sure we'll see these distinguished members again, never loose faith in what we do.
Long live [CKW]. Hooah.

Well, I really have nothing to add to that! Kevin was probably one of the best cs players I've ever played against. -.-
